The Pakistani High Commission in Abuja has debunked accusation leveled by the Indian media that Pakistan launched attacks on Pathankot, Jaisalmer and Srinagar territories in India.

Retired Maj.-Gen. Sohail Khan, the Pakistani High Commissioner said this on Friday in a Statement.

Khan said that the claims were entirely unfounded, politically motivated, and part of a propaganda campaign aimed at maligning his country.

According to him, the repeated pattern of leveling accusation against Pakistan without any credible investigation reflects a deliberate strategy to manufacture a pretext for aggression and to further destabilise the region.

“Such actions not only further endanger regional peace, but also reveal a disturbing willingness to exploit misinformation for political and military ends.

“We urge the international community to take note of this behavior and to counsel India towards restraint and responsibility.

“Pakistan remains firmly committed to peace, but it will not be deterred by attempts to provoke, intimidate, or mislead and reserves the right to respond to acts of aggression,” he said.

He condemned the Indian missile attacks on May 7, which struck nine locations across Pakistan, resulting in some fatalities.

He said that the government of Pakistan has emphsised its commitment to peace, adding that such commitment should not be misconstrued as a sign of weakness.

Freedomonline  reports that, Pathankot is a city in the Punjab state of India, while Srinagar is the capital of the Jammu and Kashmir union territory in India.

India and Pakistan have accused each other of launching new military attacks on Friday, using drones and artillery for the third day.

Both countries have been clashing since India struck multiple locations in Pakistan on Wednesday that it described as“terrorist camps’’.
