Apparently worried by the apathy toward its strike action over the increase in the pump price of petrol, the NLC in Oyo State on Thursday gave the NURTW in the state till Friday to join the protest march.
The state NLC Chairman, Mr Waheed Olojede, who gave the ultimatum in Ibadan during a protest march, also asked traders for support.
Officials of the NLC, ASUU and NANS had converged about 7:30 am at the NLC secretariat before proceeding to the Federal Secretariat and Bodija market.
The protesters chased out workers from their offices at the Federal Secretariat and the Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Habitat.
The NLC chairman warned the workers to vacate their offices, saying “ You will become a casualty if you continue to be in the office.’’
The strike in the state had recorded low compliance as private schools, business enterprises , filling stations, markets as well as banks had remained open while there was free vehicular movement.
