The Accord Party governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, on Tuesday, vowed to challenge the outcome of the governorship election at the Election Petitions Tribunal within the next two weeks.
Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated Ladoja by 327,310 votes to 254,520, to emerge winner of the April 11 polls.
Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala of the Labour Party polled 184,111 to place third while Senator Teslim Folarin of the Peoples Democratic Party polled 79,019 to place fourth.
Declaring the results in Ibadan on Sunday, the INEC Returning Officer and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof. Ayobami Salami, said Ajimobi won in 20 of the 33 local government areas in the state.

According to him, Ladoja won seven local government areas while Akala, also a former governor and Labour Party candidate, won in six local governments.

Addressing party supporters at the Accord Party secretariat in Ibadan, the former governor of Oyo State, said that concrete evidence were available that the elections were fraught with irregularities in favour of APC.
`We won’t take laws into our hands but retrieve our mandate through legal means,” Ladoja said.
He said that all the evidence available to the party would be collated for the case to be instituted within the next two weeks before the Election Petition Tribunal.
The Accord Party governorship candidate urged party supporters with more evidence of irregularities during the election to submit them at the state party secretariat in Ibadan.
