Oyo State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, urged Governor Abiola Ajimobi and relevant agencies to mandate contractors handling various road reconstruction in the state to speed up the repairs.
The House presided over by the Speaker, Mr Olagunju Ojo, made the plea while adopting the resolution in a matter of urgent public importance raised by Mr Joshua Oyebamiji, the lawmaker representing Akinyele 1.
Oyebamiji, while commending the Ajimobi led-administration for various developmental projects, raised concern about the ongoing projects in different parts of the state.
According to him, the deplorable state of the roads are having its toll on the people and creating economic hardship.
He said that all hands must be on the deck to support the good intention of the state government.
Oyebamiji, therefore, urged the contractors to fill up the pot-holes and gullies to reduce the sufferings of the people while carrying on their projects.
In another development, the speaker has reshuffled the leadership of various House Committee, which according to him, was in line with the House rules.
The newly elected PDP member, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, now heads the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, while Solomon Akande is the Chairman, House Committee on Education.
