‘Oyedokun is not the face of South-West PDP’

We were shocked beyond belief when we saw Chief Shuaibu Oyedokun’s name on the list of the PDP campaign committee for Edo State. This is an outright screaming aberration. It is an inverted logic, a very flawed and erroneous judgement whose implication borders on the ability of the Makarfi Caretaker Committee to make a thoughtful decision in this challenging time.

Chief Oyedokun is hardly a reference of principled uprightness. He is not the face of the rallying leadership in his home state of Osun, talk less of the South-West.

Chief Oyedokun is an unabashed extended linkage of the Buruji unhealthy political mercantilism. Oyedokun’s antecedents in the PDP primary in Cross River State last year still rankles with bitterness and disgust. Putting such a man in the Edo Campaign Committee shows a lack of seriousness and a disrespect to a lot of leaders in the South-West who have laboured with forthrightness to stabilise our party.

We, hereby, reject very strongly the inclusion of Chief Oyedokun, a well known time-server and fair-wind politician on the Edo Campaign Committee. We are ashamed and sickened that he was ever even considered.

His name should be stricken off immediately .
