Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, on Tuesday, accused the factional candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr. Alex Otti, of planning to cause mayhem in the South-East state.
Ikpeazu revealed that part of the plot was for Otti to buy buses, brand them in PDP logo and colour and unleash mayhem on the electorate.
A statement by his media office reads: “Information reaching Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, the PDP governorship candidate in Abia State, has it that Mr Alex Otti, the factional governorship candidate of APGA is planning to brand buses with the Okezuo Abia 2015 with the intent that his thugs will use the buses to commit crimes and assaults on innocent Abia electorate, making people to think and conclude that Dr Ikpeazu and the PDP are responsible for such crimes and assaults.
“We, therefore, call on the security agents and members of the public to take note of this evil plot.
“It will be recalled that thugs and supporters of Otti attacked three buses belonging to the Ikpeazu Campaign Organisation in Uturu, Isiukwuato LGA during a PDP rally in the area last week”.
