Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, reached a major milestone on Sunday as he scored his 200th career goal and provided an assist to inspire Galatasaray to a commanding 4-0 win over Kayserispor, a result that extended their lead at the top of the Super Lig.

The Nigerian International reached the landmark in style, taking his tally to 165 club goals and 35 goals for the Super Eagles, underlining his status as one of the most prolific forwards of his generation.

Osimhen has now registered 14 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions this season, and he arrived into Sunday’s contest in form after also scoring in Galatasaray’s previous league outing, a 3-1 victory over Karagümrük.

Galatasaray wasted no time asserting their dominance against Kayserispor and took the lead inside seven minutes when Aaron Opoku turned the ball into his own net while attempting to deal with a dangerous cross into the penalty area.
The hosts doubled their advantage in the 26th minute through Osimhen, who won the penalty himself before calmly converting from the spot to make it 2-0.

The hosts continued to control proceedings and effectively put the game beyond Kayserispor on the hour mark with a ruthless counterattack.
A long ball found Osimhen in space in the opposition half, and the striker showed composure to pick out Gabriel Sara on the edge of the box, where the Brazilian fired a first-time effort beyond the goalkeeper to extend the lead.

With the contest already settled, Galatasaray were awarded another penalty late on, and this time Mauro Icardi stepped up to score and complete the emphatic 4-0 victory.

The result keeps Galatasaray top of the Super Lig with 49 points, moving them six points clear of second-placed Fenerbahçe, who still have a game in hand. Kayserispor, meanwhile, remain 17th with 15 points and continue to hover dangerously in the relegation zone.

Galatasaray return to action on Wednesday when they host Istanbulspor in the Turkish Cup, while Kayserispor will next play on Monday as they welcome Kocaelispo.
