The Judicial Commission of Enquiry investigating the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area has invited members of the public to submit relevant information before August 14, 2026.
The commission said written memoranda would help establish the circumstances surrounding the incident in the Esinele and Yawota communities of Oyo State.
The invitation was contained in a public notice issued on Saturday, August 1, by the commission’s secretary, Olamide Tella.
Commission Seeks Facts and Supporting Evidence
According to the notice, submissions should contain relevant facts, evidence, documents or other materials connected to the abduction.
Contributors may provide information about events leading up to the incident, the circumstances in which the victims were abducted and developments recorded afterwards.
The commission also wants details about the security situation in the affected communities before, during and after the incident.
Submissions may identify any actions, failures or circumstances believed to have contributed to the abduction.
Responses of Authorities to Be Examined
Members of the public may also provide information about how government agencies, security institutions, local communities and individuals responded to the incident.
The commission encouraged contributors to include recommendations that could help prevent similar attacks and improve the protection of schools and communities.
Those submitting memoranda are expected to provide their full names and contact details.
They may also attach supporting documents, photographs or other relevant materials where available.

Memoranda can be delivered physically to the commission’s secretariat at the Conference Room, Office of the Head of Service, Oyo State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

Makinde Inaugurates Investigative Panel
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde inaugurated the judicial commission on Friday to investigate the abduction and establish the circumstances surrounding it.
The panel is expected to examine available evidence, assess the responses of relevant authorities and recommend measures aimed at preventing a recurrence.
The public call for memoranda forms part of the commission’s evidence-gathering process.
