Ondo APC guber primaries: Abraham accuses other aspirants of abducting delegates

All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Dr. Segun Abraham, on Sunday, raised the alarm over the ‘abduction’ of some delegates for the party’s primaries which will hold on September 3 in Akure.
He accused some aspirants of inviting the delegates to a meeting and after the meeting, they were abducted “and are now being held hostage in various hotels”.
Abraham, who has already being endorsed by the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declared that the aspirants were wasting their time because “I have met the delegates and they have assured me that they are for me. If we hold the primary election today, I shall have nothing less than 85 per cent of their votes”.
From the 203 wards in the 18 local governments in the South-South state, more than 3,000 delegates are expected to vote at the primaries.
Former Attorney-General and Justice Commissioner, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), has already emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking while featuring on a live programme on Adaba FM, Abraham said there was nothing wrong in his endorsement by Tinubu.
He said: “These delegates, who never knew the intention of the desperate aspirants, went for the meeting only to be confined and never allowed to go home”
Abraham, who described Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) as an ingrate, said his comments on Tinubu were unfortunate and an ungrateful act.
Abraham said: “Without our National Leader, President Muhammadu Buhari would not have won the ticket of the APC in 2015 and he would not have become the president of Nigeria.
“The National Leader is being accused of imposing me. I was not imposed. Endorsement is different from imposition. Those who regarded the two as the same do not know what they were saying.
“The National Leader only said I am a preferred aspirant that can deliver the state for APC in the coming election. There is still going to be primary election and delegates know who they are going to vote for and who can win election for the APC”.
