Ondo APC to Abraham: You are living in the past

It has come to our notice that Dr. Olusegun Abraham, the first runner-up in the last governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, scored our party low in terms of popularity in the state.

No doubt Dr. Abraham has lost touch with the happenings in the party hence his erroneous declaration that the party’s popularity has nosedived.

Abraham, who could not win his constituency during the widely adjudged best free and fair party primary, allowed his poor spirit of sportsmanship to undermine his reasoning thereby reeling out statistics that could only be likened to comedy of errors.

Even those with hearing defects could hear about the ongoing development in our party as members of various political parties are defecting to our party in their droves on weekly basis.

Abraham must have forgotten the history, candidates in our party rode on the credibility of President Muhammadu Buhari which saw them to victory during the elections.

Ascribing the victory of the party at the polls to Hon. Isaac Kekemeke and Abraham himself was as good as standing history on its head. Kekemeke, the then chairman of the party, was not popular to the point of winning people’s support for APC because in the election, Kekemeke lost his unit, ward and local government to the PDP, while Segun Abraham lost his local government in the party primary.

To further buttress the fact that Abraham is at a loss, and had been cocooned in his little world of fantasies, he claimed that 97.56 per cent of APC members in the state belong to Kekemeke and himself. This is laughable and requires to educate Abraham on this figment of his imagination.

Considering the total number of members of the state Exco, no one with even poor knack for arithmetic would rank the inconsequential number of people misled to the Alliance for Democracy by Kekemeke and Abraham as 97.56 per cent of the party strength.

It would be foolhardy to think Abraham, who is still in court challenging the results of the primary, would say or see anything good about the party and the current acting chairman of the party, Ade Adetimehin.

It’s pertinent to remind Abraham of the efforts of Kekemeke as the chairman of the party then to make him win the primary by using the party machinery in his (Abraham’s) favour to the detriment of other aspirants, yet he failed. If that could happen when Kekemeke was in the saddle, where lies his control of the 97.56 per cent of the party strength?

However, there is no doubt that Abraham and his cohorts are indeed eager to return to our party, the strategy being applied revealed that they want to hijack the party control and lord it over other members for their parochial ambitions and not for the benefit of the party and members in general.

Nevertheless, it is important to reiterate that the party is open to all members who are still on sabbatical to return as full members without any recourse to their past mistakes
