Onazi, Ideye may be out of Kenya cracker

ogenyi_onazi2Three members of the Nigeria national team, John Ogu, Ogenyi Onazi and Brown Ideye may not be fully fit to play in Wednesday’s FIFA World Cup qualifiers cracker against the Harambee Stars of Kenya.

The Super Eagles will battle against the Harambee Stars in Nairobi but may have to make do without the services of the three key men who played in last weekend’s 2-2 draw against Mexico in Houston.

The three players cupped the injury in the friendly game against Mexico and it is not yet clear if they will recover in time for Wednesday’s game against the Harambee Stars.

Eagles chief coach, Stephen Keshi, confirmed that he would speak to the team’s doctor before reaching a decision over the three stars.

“I will find out from the team doctor but from what I saw from the injuries they sustained I believe strongly that Brown, Onazi and Ogu, would be good to play. What they had were just crack that won’t threaten their chances of playing against Kenya. We surely need these guys to play on this game, it is important,” the former Eagles captain stated.

Nigeria currently lead Group F of the African zone of 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying on five points from three games.
