Olusola Oke to APC: Leave me out of your woes

The governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Ondo State, Chief Olusola Oke, on Wednesday, chided the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their unguarded statements concerning his campaign tours, urging them to face their internal wranglings and leave him out of their woes.
Oke, who spoke through the Chairman, Media and Publicity of his Campaign Committee, Mr Kolawole Olabisi, frowned at what he termed “an unguarded statement” credited to the APC in which it berated Oke for expressing his feelings over the deplorable state of the roads in the state during his Campaign tour of Ondo East local government area of the state on Monday.
According to him, “Isn’t it a shame that a party which has the serious business of campaign on its hands could start bellyaching on the business of another person? One would have expected the State Government who had neglected the roads networks across the State in the past seven and a half years to be the one attempting to defend itself and definitely not the APC.
“What this has shown is that Olusola Oke is their problem because he has the overwhelming support of the people of the state as shown from the legions of members of the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who have been flocking into our Party, the AD, in the last few days”.
While counselling the APC not to weep more than the bereaved as it was obviously trying to do, the AD flag-bearer advised them to face the internal strives bedeviling them and leave him out of their woes.
“It is Olusola Oke who will form the next government in Ondo State come February next year by the grace of God and with the support of our people who are thirsting for a real turn around and a new hope, which we represent, he will not be distracted by the antics of drowning people who are merely grasping at straws in their desperation to stay afloat.
“That Olusola Oke could identify with the suffering people of the state by expressing his regrets over the parlous condition of the state’s affairs portrays him as a man with a caring heart and one poised to turn around the fortunes of the state for good when he forms government. And for the APC to berate him for doing that was definitely borne out of frustration.”
The statement, therefore, enjoined the people of the state to be wary of the APC and vote against them in the November 26, 2016 governorship election as it has no plan for them.
“I want our people to vote overwhelmingly for the Alliance for Democracy in the coming election as we will bring back the lost glory of Ondo State in all ramifications. We will care for the needs of our people and make life abundant for all and sundry. This is what is absent in the APC and they are afraid and have thus descended so low into pettiness and name callings. This fly in the ointment antics will not distract us as we journey onward with God on our side.”
