Okowa is better than me, Pinnick tells Deltans

The immediate past executive chairman of Delta State Sports Commission and President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has hailed his replacement, Chief Tony Okowa, as a right peg in a round hole and an assurance that Delta sports will remain in the upward swing.
Commending the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, on the choice, Amaju revealed that Tony Okowa had been part and parcel of the success story of Delta sports.
“We have worked together for years and I can vouch for him. He has contributed immensely to Delta sports and I know he will do very well and even surpass the achievements of my predecessor, Chief Solomon Ogba and myself. I expect him to go places because he understands the terrain and has worked with us on many fronts. He is even better than me in temperament because I know I can be difficult to work with but Tony is cool, calm but calculated,” Amaju said.

Amaju also described other members of the board as very competent and experienced and pleaded with them to give Okowa the same support he received from them while as the executive chairman.
The members of the board, sworn in on Thursday at the Government House, Asaba, include Eldington Kuejubola, Neville Bekederemo and Mrs Chimonye Dafe-Aliyu.
