Ohanaeze lauds Tinubu for establishing 3 new tertiary institution in South-East

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has commended President Bola Tinubu for signing into law bills establishment three new tertiary institutions in the South-East.

The commendation is contained in a statement issued by Dr Ezechi Chukwu, the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, in Enugu on Thursday.

According to him, the new institutions are Federal University Okigwe Imo State, Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences Item, Abia State and Federal College of Education also in Bende, Abia State.

He said the apex Igbo body noted that the institutions would not only enhance research, advance knowledge and improve healthcare but would create employment, attract development and reduce criminality in the zone.

“Being a former Senator, the Ohanaeze President-General, Sen. John Azuta-Mbata praised the use of legislative processes to bring development to Alaigbo,” he stated.

He therefore, applauded the National Assembly for the initiative.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo also expresses in particular its gratitude to the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Mr Benjamin Kalu who sponsored the bills for the two tertiary Institutions in Bende, Abia State.

“In addition, the pan Igbo organisation deeply thanks Sen. Patrick Ndubueze, a member serving Imo North Senatorial District, who equally sponsored the bill for the Federal University Okigwe,” Chukwu said.

He added that the initiative was a major milestone in both the political history and development of Okigwe in Imo State.
