*PDP Guber Candidate bags Award of Excellence from YOWICAN
The Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate for the 2023 election and Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has said that the state is being led by someone with the fear of God and who believes that service to humanity is very important.
According to him, “the light that is shinning in Government House, Asaba will continue to shine by the grace of God in 2023”.
In his remarks at the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carol and Awards presentation, organised by the Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Delta State held at Divine Way Baptist Church, Asaba on Tuesday, Oborevwori said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has been ruling the state with the fear of God and called on Deltans to elevate him by voting for him and Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 general elections.
“This state, as it is today, is being led by somebody who has the fear of God and who believes that service to humanity is very important. He has done very well as a Governor. The Atiku Abubakar/Okowa ticket will rescue and reset our country. Atiku Abubakar and our dear Governor are very competent and committed to the task of rescuing Nigeria from the present situation we have found ourselves”, he said.
The Governorship Candidate who read the First Lesson taken from Genesis 3:1–7,said people should do things that they will be remembered for by making positive impact in the lives of the people and implored the people to vote wisely in next year general elections.
Oborevwori, who bagged the Award of Excellence from YOWICAN, commended them for the Award and said that; “In this our state, the light that is shinning in Government House and by the Grace of God will continue to shine in 2023. I have served this state in several positions in the Executive and presently in the House of Assembly. As a Presiding Officer for over five and a half years, it has been very peaceful in the Assembly and I strongly believe come 2023, it will be more peaceful in Jesus name, Amen. You are aware of my MORE Agenda which is Meaningful Development, Opportunity For All, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced Peace and Security. I have told you that I am a Pan-Deltan, I am a Unifier. I have told Deltans that I will listen to them MORE, will do MORE and achieve MORE come 2023. I want to appreciate all of you for coming. I want you to vote wisely, do not be deceived and I strongly believe all present here are Sheriffied”.
The Chief of Staff to the Delta State Government, Rt Hon Festus Agas, who had earlier taken the Second Lesson from Isaiah 7:10-14, received the Award of Excellence presented to the governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on his behalf.
YOWICAN Chairman, Delta State, Pastor Jeffrey Ogheneovo Evwro, expressed gratitude to the State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa; Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori; leaders in government and CAN, “who are youth conscious in their plans, and are having great desires for the youths to have a better future”.
