Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta has commiserated Super Eagles Captain, Wilfred Ndidi over the death of his father, Mr Sunday Ndidi.

Freedomonline reports that the deceased, a retired military officer, died in a fatal road accident on Tuesday in Umunede, Ika North East Local Government Area of the state.

He was reported to have been rushed to a hospital in Agbor, where he was later confirmed dead

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon on Wednesday in Asaba, the governor described the passing of the late Sunday as sudden, painful and a great loss, not only to the Ndidi family but also to the Umunede community and the entire Ika Nation.

Oborevwori extended his heartfelt condolences to Wilfred, members of the bereaved family, and the people of Umunede, urging them to take solace in the impactful life and legacies of the deceased.

“The tragic incident has drawn widespread sympathy, including Wilfred Ndidi’s club, and Besiktas, which confirmed the development in a statement released on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.”

Oborevwori prayed that God grants the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and the soul of the departed eternal rest.
