Obasanjo plotting to extradite me to U.S., cries Kashamu

Senator -elect (Ogun East, PDP), Buruji Kashamu, has urged Nigerians to save him from former President Olusegun Obasanjo who is plotting to extradite him to the United States (U.S.) to face drug-related charges.
In fact, he has sent a letter to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to save him from the former president “because the plot has thickened”.
His petition to NHRC, copies of which were sent to relevant agencies and prominent Nigerians, was written by his lawyer, Ajibode Oluyede.
In the petition, he accused Obasanjo of instigating foreign security agencies to apprehend him in Nigeria and extradite him to the U.S. to answer to drug-related charges.
During the 2011 governorship election in Ogun State, Obasanjo used Kashamu to divide the PDP in the Gateway State, paving the way for the election of Governor Ibikunle Amosun on the platform of the then Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
In the build-up to the 2015 election, Kashamu aligned with President Goodluck Jonathan against Obasanjo.
Because Jonathan lost the March 28 election, Kashamu has been targetted by Obasanjo “to ensure that he is not sworn-in as a Senator in June, 2015”.
In his petition to NHRC, Kashamu begged the commission to protect him from Obasanjo “because there is a deliberate attempt to abduct and forcibly take me to the U.S. to answer to charges bordering on drug-related offences”.
