Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Wednesday, received top officials of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in his penthouse residence at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

National Chairman of the party, Dr Olu Agunloye, and a chieftain, Dr Yemi Faroumbi, met with the former President privately in his residence for about two hours behind closed doors.

The two personalities were received into the prestigious Presidential Library about 1.30pm apparently ahead of a pre-scheduled 2pm meeting.
A few minutes before 2pm, the former President returned to the premises and went behind closed doors with Agunloye and Faroumbi, both of whom were his former Minister and former Ambassador respectively.
Agunloye was two time Minister under Obasanjo as Minister of State Defence (Navy) and later Minister of Power and Steel while Faroumbi was Nigerian Ambassador to the Philippines.

Agunloye confirmed the meeting, saying: “Yes. Dr Faroumbi and I met the former President in private. This is in line with our party’s agenda in promoting a democratic platform to foster justice, equity and equality in the political landscape in Nigeria.”
