Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, on Monday, said the commitment and vision for an indivisible Nigeria by former President Olusegun Obasanjo remain unparallel.
Bello, in a congratulatory message in Minna to Obasanjo who marked his 80 years on Sunday, said Nigeria is opportune to have a committed and unbiased leader whose footprints shall remain indelible for generations yet unborn to learn from.
The message reads: “I congratulate you today as you clock 80 years. Yours has been a life dedicated to the course of our country and at your age, one would have expected you to be on the rear seat watching things as they unfold, but your commitment and vision for an indivisible, united, prosperous and peaceful Nigeria have singled you out as a leader with a difference.
“Though some may not understand or agree with your position on certain national issues, one thing that no one can deny is that your decisions on such critical issues are devoid of personal sentiment or for parochial gains but are largely taken in the interest of Nigeria.
“Yours has been a sacrificial life; a life of great passion, vision and conviction. Your commitment and unbiased leadership virtues stand you out and make your footprints indelible for current and generations yet unborn to learn from.
“Your unusual interventions at critical stages of our national life and indeed at the continental level have made you a factor in the country and a force of recognition in the continent of Africa. Happy birthday to a quintessential leader”.
Bello then prayed for long life for the octogenarian and wish him well in his bid to ensure a better Nigeria in his life time.
