Out of favour Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins, has been described as a world class player by some top MLS players who are convinced the Nigerian should be counted when highly rated players in the world are on the front burner.
The players who rated the former Inter Milan star highly include Toronto FC goalkeeper, Konopka and defender Eric Zavaleta following his display against them at the weekend.
Konopka, who conceded a goal from Martins, said the Seattle Sounders pair of Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey are world class and make opponents be on their toes while a game is on.
Konopka said: “They (Martins and Dempsey) are both obviously world-class players and yet you always have to be on your toes with them.
“Oba’s shot in the first half is moving all over the place and (Martins) is the type of player who you have to be ready for at any time.”
