NSE moves 268.24m shares worth N2.15bn

The volume of shares traded at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday surged by 73.78 per cent as investors’ staked N2.15 billion on 268.24 million shares traded in 3,621 deals.
This was against 154.36 million shares worth N4.21 billion achieved in 3,154 deals on Thursday.
An analysis of the activity chart showed that Continental Reinsurance emerged the most traded stock, accounting for 46.69 million share valued N39.67 million.
FBN Holdings came second with 38.53 million shares worth N266.27 million, while GT Bank sold 28.65 million shares valued N658.92 million.
Transcrop accounted for 17.38 million shares worth N36.18 million, while Zenith Bank traded 16.66 million shares valued N267.99 million.
However, the market capitalisation lost N88 billion or 0.84 per cent to close at N10.344 trillion against N10.432 trillion recorded on Thursday following price loses by blue chip equities.
Also, the All-Share Index which opened at 30,436.18 points lost 255.91 points or 0.84 per cent to close at 30,180.27 points.
Seplat led the losers’ chart, losing N15 to close at N300 per share.
Guinness lost N6.58 to close at N125.10 131.68, while Julius Berger dipped N2.39 to close at N45.58 per share.

UACN shed N2 to close at N38, while Unilever declined by 99k to close at N36.01 per share.
Conversely, Beta Glass topped the gainers’ chart with a gain of N1.53 to close at N43 per share.
Ashaka Cement trailed with N1 to close at N22, Stanbic IBTC garnered 76k to close at N21.62, while Dangote Cement appreciated by 48k to close at N171 per share.
