NSE Index records marginal growth of 0.07%

The Nigerian equity market posted marginal growth of  0.07  per cent on Wednesday to break the two consecutive days bearish trading.
The All-Share Index increased by 18.65 points or 0.07 per cent to close at 25,496.71 compared with 25,478.06 recorded on Tuesday.
In the same vein, the market capitalisation closed higher by N7 billion  or 0.08 per cent to close at N8.822 trillion in contrast with N8.815 trillion achieved on Tuesday.
A breakdown of the price movement indicated that Nigerian Breweries led the gainers’ table for the day, with a gain of  N1.50 to close at N123.50 per share.
Flour Mills followed with a gain of 49k to close at N17.99 and  Guaranty Trust Bank gained 42k to close at N24.87 per share.
Oando increased by 16k to close at N5.48 and FBN Holdings appreciated by 10k to close at N3.19 per share.
Conversely, Seplat topped the laggards’ table with a loss of  N8 to close at N390 per share.
Lafarge Africa trailed with a loss of N2.37 to close at N45.13, while  Mobil  shed N1.99  to close at N324.01 per share.
Unilever Nigeria depreciated by N1.75 to close at N33.25 and Ashaka Cement was down by 47k to close at N9.03 per share.
Fidelity Bank, for the second day running, remained the most traded equity, trading 97.57 million shares valued at N97.55 million.
FCMB Group followed with an account of 36.13 million shares worth N40.23 million and  Access Bank sold 17.80 million valued at N110.38 million.
Transcorp exchanged 12.74 million shares worth N9.58 million and Hallmark Insurance traded 12 million shares valued at N6 million.
In all, investors staked N1.25 billion on 247.68 million shares transacted in 2,909 deals in contrast with 402.69 million shares valued at N1.92 billion traded in 3,459 deals on Tuesday.
