Equity transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended on Tuesday on an upbeat note with the All-Share Index improving by 160.2 points.
Index rose by 0.53 per cent to close at 30,426.10in contrast to 3,265.90 achieved on Monday.
The market capitalisation, which opened at N10.401 trillion, grew by N55 billion or 0.53 per cent to close at N10.456 trillion.
Seplat topped the gainers’ table with N12 to close at N255 per share.
Nigerian Breweries followed with a gain of N3.62 to close at N140.02, while Forte Oil gained N2.29 to close at N231.09 per share.
Dangote cement appreciated by N1.96 to close at N168, while Guinness rose by 45k to close at N154.45 per share.
Conversely, Stanbic IBTC led the losers’ chart with a loss of 59k to close at N21.07, while Flour Mill and Lafarge Wapco trailed with a loss of 54k each to close at N22 and N97.46 per share respectively.
GTBank lost 35k to close at N24.15, while Diamond Bank dipped 16k to close at N3.34 per share.
A total volume of 195.590 million shares worth N3.13 billion were traded in 3,262 deals.
The volume represented 58.96 per cent decrease over the 175.564 million shares valued at N1.56 billion traded in 3,157 deals on Monday.
The Financial Service Sector sustained its leading position as the delight of investors with 111.09 million shares worth N1.14 billion in 1,186 deals.
The Banking sub-sector drove activities in the sector accounting for 95.29 million shares valued N1.09 billion achieved in 936 deals.
