The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Benue Command, has repelled an attempt to kidnap students and staff of Fr. Angus Frazer Memorial High School, Adeke, Makurdi.
This is contained in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Michael Ejelikwu, and issued  to news on Friday in Makurdi.
According to the statement,  the command had earlier conducted a risk and vulnerability survey across the state and discovered that Fr. Angus Frazer Memorial High School, was at high risk of kidnapping, hence the tacit deployment of men.
The statement read in part: “On the May 7, 2024, at about 00:08hrs, unidentified gunmen were spotted by our officers,  while gaining access to the school through the perimeter fence.
“The gunmen were shooting sporadically and indiscriminately with the intent of kidnapping the students and staff of the school, but for the gallantry and professionalism of men of the command who repelled the attack.
