Warri Wolves Football Club on Sunday beat visiting Giwa FC 2-0 at the Warri Township Stadium in a week 13 match of the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Goodluck Onomado scored in the 10th minute through a header, before Odumegbu John extended the tally in the 29th minute after a defensive error by the Jos-based visitors.
Warri Wolves entertained their teeming fans with their play, and the fans cheered every move by the players.
The Wolves’ attackers, led by King Osanga, tormented and mesmerised the visitors’ defence.

Though, Giwa FC also played good game and created some scoring chances but could not convert any of them to goal.

In the second half, the visitors changed their tactics, but their efforts were thwarted by Wolves goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye.

Speaking at the post-match interview, coach of Giwa FC, Gbenga Ogunbote, told newsmen that his boys played a good game in spite of the loss.

“We played good football but lost the match. But the fact is that our opponents are a team which just finished playing on the continent, and that it is a good team.

“All our focus now is how to prosecute our next game and we have to concentrate on that,” he said.

Also speaking, the coach of Warri Wolves, Ard Sluis, commended the performance of his players.

“Today, we really dominated the game, created chances and converted two.

“But I added a new philosophy into our pattern of play and I am impressed that the players are coping with it,” the Dutch said.
