Baby of the league, newly-promoted Ikorodu City of Lagos showed grit and determination as they were forced to a 1-1 draw against Heartland in one of the midweek games in Owerri and will be targeting another home win this weekend against Lobi Stars.

During their last game played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, the Oga Boys whitewashed Insurance of Benin 3-0 for their first win of the season before securing another point on the road against Heartland, despite playing part of the game with 10 men.

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars will hope to stem a run of bad results as they welcome Katsina United to the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, on Sunday.

Unbeaten Rivers United will be away to Niger Tornadoes as Abia Warriors play at home against Plateau United.

Some of the other matches for the weekend will see Remo Stars hosting Insurance while El-Kanemi Warriors will be home against Enyimba as Heartland travel to Yenegoa to keep a date with Bayelsa United.

Akwa United will be hoping to get their season back on track in front of their home fan as they faceoff against wounded champion, Rangers, with the final game of the weekend seeing Sunshine Stars playing at home against Nasarawa United.
