NLNG delivers 3000th cargo of LNG to Turkey

The Nigeria LNG Ltd. (NLNG) has delivered  its 3000th cargo of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to Botas Petroleum Pipeline Corporation at Marmara the LNG Terminal in Turkey.

A statement on Wednesday in Lagos, signed by Mr Kudo Eresia-Eke, the company’s General Manager, External Relations, said that the product was delivered on January 19 by a vessel tagged: NLNG Lokoja.

The statement said that the delivery was witnessed by some senior NLNG officials, including the Managing Director, Mr Babs Omotowa.

“We take pride in the fact that this delivery demonstrates the consistency and reliability of NLNG as a world class energy supplier.

“It also underscores the excellent relationship we have with our customers.

“The company remains fully committed to our aspiration to help harness the nation’s gas resources, and our vision to help build a better Nigeria.

“In doing this, the company has positively impacted on the country’s gas flaring status, helped to improve the environment and convert a previously wasted resource into wealth for the nation,” the statement said.

It said that Nigeria currently supplies nearly 25 per cent of Turkey’s LNG imports.

The statement added that the firm had converted over four Trillion Cubic Feet (tcf) of associated gas to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) from 1999 to 2013.

It said the gas was for export and domestic uses.

The NLNG is owned by four shareholders, namely: NNPC (49%) and Shell Gas BV, SGBV, (25.6%).

Others are: Total LNG Nigeria Ltd. (15%) and Eni International (N.A,) N. V. S. a. r. l (10.4%).
