The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr Isa Jare, has reaffirmed the service’s commitment to keep deploying technology to improve  service delivery system.

Jare said this, while speaking on Thursday, at the unveiling of the e-passport front office in Daura, Katsina State
He said the issuance of e-passport to bonafide Nigerians was one of the key mandates of the NIS as entrenched in section 2 of the Immigration Act 2015.
“Over the years, passport issuance in Nigeria has gone through tremendous reforms, from the manual to machine readable passport to the e-passport and now, the enhanced e-passport.
“Daura, hence joins Alimosho in Lagos, Zaria in Kaduna and Ilesha in Osun State as the front offices to be situated outside state capitals.
“The Federal Government has approved the e-border project as part of its resolve to deploy technology at the borders.
“With the support of partners, the Immigration Identification Data analysis system, MIDAS is rapidly rolled out at our entry points,” he said.
He also affirmed the commitment of the NIS to meeting the rising demands for passport services globally.
In his remark, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk, expressed satisfaction for the kind gesture.
He said Daura emirate would continue to support the innovations in the services to meet the evolving migration and security challenges.
