Enugu State Government, on Sunday, held a thanksgiving mass at the Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu in commemoration of the 60th independence anniversary of Nigeria.
In a homily, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Dr Callistus Onaga, applauded Governor Ifeamyi Ugwuanyi for his good leadership in the state.

He also commended President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerians for the 60th independence anniversary, urging all to live in peace and uphold the dreams of the country’s founding fathers.
Ugwuanyi was represented at the mass by the Deputy Governor, Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo, who took the first reading.
Speaker of the House of Assembly, Edward Ubochi, took the second reading. The Chief Judge of Enugu State, Hon. Justice Priscillia Emehelu, heads of security agencies, other top government officials, members of the legislature and State Executive Council (EXCO), Council Chairmen, Chairman of Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers, H.R.H Igwe Ambassador Lawrence Agubuzu, were at the mass.
