Here is your fully rewritteOperatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have uncovered a large drug storage facility in Edo State, recovering over 1,378 kilogrammes of suspected cannabis during a targeted operation.

The raid took place in Igbanke community, Orhionmwon Local Government Area, following actionable intelligence, according to the NDLEA Commander in Edo, Dr Mitchell Ofoyeju

Ofoyeju disclosed that the operation led to the seizure of 125 sacks of dried cannabis commonly known as skunk.

He confirmed that a 37-year-old suspect, Roland Owie, was apprehended in connection with the illegal consignment.

Describing the operation as a major success, the NDLEA boss said it represents a significant step in disrupting drug trafficking networks in the region.

He noted that removing such a large quantity of illicit substances from circulation would help protect communities, particularly young people who are most vulnerable to drug abuse.

Ofoyeju emphasised that the agency remains committed to dismantling drug syndicates and curbing the distribution of narcotics across the country.

He warned that Edo State would no longer serve as a safe base for drug traffickers and urged residents to support law enforcement by providing credible intelligence.

The NDLEA also commended officers involved in the raid for their professionalism and dedication to the anti-drug campaign.
