aminu_tambuwalThe Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Aminu Tambuwal, has assured Nigerians that the assembly will not undermine their interest while considering the proposed amendment to the 2013 Appropriation Act.

Tambuwal told newsmen in Benin on Friday in an interview that the National Assembly was still consulting with stakeholders on the bill before it.

President Goodluck Jonathan had recently forwarded a bill for some amendments to the budget to the National Assembly.

Tambuwal said “this issue is all about consultation, we will keep on talking to ourselves to ensure that Nigerians get the best.

“Whatever the National Assembly is doing now, it is geared towards ensuring that Nigerians get the best at all times.

“We will not, in any way, undermine the interest of Nigerians in whatever we do; we will be the last to do that.’’
