Super Eagles out-of-favour striker, Osaze Odemwingie, won’t stay redundant for long at English Premiership club, West Brom, as another fresh bid was made on Saturday by Italian club giant, Napoli, who are badly interested in signing the former Bendel Insurance player.
Although the 32-year-old who has been frozen out of the West Brom first team, it has been identified that Osaze is the latest transfer target of Serie A giants Napoli, who are looking to bolster their attacking ranks following the summer sale of Edison Cavani.
Rafa Benitez is hoping to make a move for Odemwingie if he fails to land either of Alessandro Matri or Jackson Martinez from Juventus and FC Porto respectively.
Odemwingie has been linked with several clubs this summer, but no move has yet materialized, as West Brom has turned down offers from several clubs including West Ham and Fulham for falling below their valuation of the player.
The Nigeria international has scored 30 goals in 87 Premier League appearances for the Baggies, but Napoli are hoping to sign the player for €1.5 million.
Before the weekend kick-off of the English Premiership League season, West Brom players and officials went on a training tour of Europe to prepare for the new season and left Odemwingie behind to train with the West Brom reserves.
