An Ibadan-based trader, Sola Famuyibo, has told a Mapo Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo State that her brother-in-law’s wife, Sumbo, “charmed” her husband with cooking.

Famuyibo made the allegations in her counter argument against her husband’s claim  that she was maltreating him in the matrimony.

She added that things were going on normally in her union until Sumbo used her cooking to cause trouble in her relationship by luring Williams, her husband, thereby completely destroying her marriage.

“My Lord, Sumbo is after my life. She pushed my husband into adultery. In fact, Williams now dates one Alhaja.

“Worst still, she has taken my husband out of our  house and caused Williams to separate from me, please, help reconcile my husband with me,” Famuyibo begged the court.

Earlier in 2022, Williams had sought the dissolution of the 33-year-old union because he said that living with Famuyibo was no longer comfortable for him.

He further said that Famiyibo had stopped taking care of him even at his old age.

“I ran away from our home in January 2022.

“My lord, due to her unhealthy attitude and meanness  towards me, I am now living with my younger brother.

“In fact, I don’t have peace of mind because she doesn’t take care of me.

“I had five children before I married her in 1990, but all of them are living with my other relatives as a result of my wife’s repulsive attitude toward me,” Famuyibo said.

At the conclusion of her defence, the court’s President, Mrs S.M. Akintayo adjourned the suit until April 27 for cross examination.
