Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, the Commander Sector III of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Monguno, Borno has called for sustained support and synergy  between the MJTF and national forces to enhance the fight against Boko haram/ Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists.

Abuabakar made the call when he received the Sector IV Commander of the MNJTF, Col. Mamane Kiaou, in Monguno.

This is contained in a statement issued by the spokesman of the sector on Wednesday, Capt. Babatunde Zubairu.

The two commanders discussed further plans on Joint operations against terrorists in the region.

Abubakar said the synergy which both sectors had leveraged upon in the past especially during Operation Flood Sanity,  was a combined  joint operation conducted in the last Quarter of 2022 by both Sectors.

Responding, Kiaou thanked his host for the warm reception.

He acknowledged the synergy between both sectors and said he  looked forward to an enhanced cooperation in the coming days as the combined forces prepare to conduct more operations in the joint operations area in line with the mandate of the MNJTF.

Both commanders laid wreaths at the sector III Cenotaph in honor of all those who paid the supreme sacrifice.
