*A spotlight on community projects by Awka North and South Federal Constituency lawmaker, who is one of the only 17 female lawmakers in Nigeria’s House of Representatives

Hon. Prof. Obiageli Lilian Orogbu, the lawmaker representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency, has been spreading democracy dividends to her constituents through various community projects. To show that she is deliberate about these actions, these are her words; ” My representation is centred on education, human capacity building/empowerment and infrastructure development. I am deeply committed to improving our constituency by focusing on these key areas. Together, we can ensure that our voices are heard and our needs are met. Let’s build a brighter future for Anambra and Nigeria.”

As one of the only 17 female lawmakers in Nigeria’s House of Representatives, she has demonstrated her commitment to improving the lives of her people.

*Education: A Top Priority*

Hon. Orogbu has prioritized education, recognizing its transformative power. She has executed several projects to improve educational infrastructure, including the *construction of a block of six classrooms for Community Secondary School Achalla*. This project has provided a conducive learning environment for students, enhancing their academic experience.

In addition to the Achalla project, Hon. Orogbu has also *renovated Three Classroom Blocks for Community Secondary School Okpuno* and *renovated Three Classroom Blocks at Ogulube Primary School Ebenebe*. These renovations have breathed new life into the schools, providing students with modern facilities that support their educational journey.

*Infrastructure Development*

Hon. Orogbu’s commitment to infrastructure development has led to the *construction of 1 KM Road at Holy Family Road Amansea*. This project has improved transportation links, facilitating the movement of people and goods within the community.

Furthermore, she has also *renovated Six Classroom Blocks at Community Secondary School Mgbakwu* and *constructed 1 KM Road at St. Stephen Junction – Omoh Block Industry Mgbakwu*. These projects demonstrate her dedication to creating an enabling environment that supports the socio-economic development of her constituents.

*Empowerment and Capacity Building*

Hon. Orogbu’s empowerment and capacity-building initiatives have had a profound impact on her constituents. She has *trained and empowered over 500 constituents in different capacities*, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to improve their livelihoods.

Moreover, she has *installed over 400 solar-powered street lights across the 19 communities in the constituency*. This project has improved security, enhanced economic activities, and transformed the overall quality of life for residents.

*Healthcare and Social Welfare*

Hon. Orogbu’s commitment to healthcare and social welfare is evident in her various projects. She has *renovated Four Classroom Blocks at Ikwodiaku Primary School, Awka*, and *renovated Four Classroom Blocks at Community Secondary School Mbaukwu*. These projects have improved access to quality education and healthcare services.

In addition, she has also *constructed 1 KM Road at Ogechukwu Street, Awka*, which has improved transportation links and facilitated access to healthcare services.

*Community Development*

Hon. Orogbu’s community development initiatives have been designed to promote social cohesion and community engagement. She has *renovated Six Classroom Blocks at Agulu Awka Primary School, Awka*, which has provided a modern learning environment for students.

Furthermore, she has also *renovated Three Classroom Blocks at Community Secondary School Ezioka Awka*, demonstrating her commitment to creating an enabling environment that supports the socio-economic development of her constituents.

*Conclusion

Hon. Prof. Obiageli Lilian Orogbu’s democracy dividends have transformed the lives of her constituents. Her commitment to education, infrastructure development, empowerment, and community development has created a brighter future for the people of Awka North and South Federal Constituency. As a shining example of effective representation, Hon. Orogbu continues to inspire hope and confidence in the democratic process.
