Mba’s goal couldn’t help Rangers

sunday_mbaWarri Wolves Football Club have declared that despite releasing Super Eagles Nations Cup star, Sunday Mba to Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, the player remains the property of Warri Wolves as the Enugu team are yet to concretise formalities for his final transfer.

Warri Wolves Media Officer, Moses Etu, said yesterday in Asaba that, they allowed Mba to play for Rangers in their CAF Champions League game in Angola because of the passionate appeal sent to the club by the Nigeria Football Federation, who pleaded that the player should be allowed to play that match based on national interest.

“Now that match had been played and Rangers are yet to fulfil their own part of the deal which was agreed that the sum of N12 million should be paid for the Super Eagles to get his final transfer.

“We would want to use this opportunity to tell the whole world that we only gave Sunday Mba to Rangers for the continental game,” Moses disclosed.

“This clarification became necessary because we have heard in some quarters that the player is being referred to as a Rangers player.

“We have not sold Sunday Mba and the player is available to any club that is interested in his services.”

Wolves have requested that Rangers pay N12 million for Mba.
