Mayweather, Pacquiao to contest new Emerald title

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will contest the new WBC Emerald belt when they clash on May 2.
The title has been designed by the WBC, especially for the megafight and alongside another onyx belt.
Fans were then asked to vote on which title they felt was best suited to the contest, with the Emerald belt winning by a margin of 53 per cent to 47 per cent.
“The World Boxing Council is very grateful to the multitude of fans who participated in this process by voting on our web page to choose the historic belt Mayweather or Pacquiao will proudly possess,” the sanctioning body said.
