Man slumps, dies in Ondo

The Police Command in Ondo State has confirmed the death of an unidentified middle-aged man who slumped and died at Ikare Junction in Owo, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the command’s Spokesperson, who confirmed the incident to newsmen on Monday in Akure, said it happened on Thursday.
“The Police Command in Ondo State is aware of the incident involving an unidentified man who reportedly slumped and died around Ikare Junction, Owo, on August 20.
“Police detectives visited the scene and observed no visible mark of violence on the deceased.
“The body was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, where a doctor on duty confirmed him dead and the corpse was subsequently deposited at the hospital mortuary,” he said.
Jimoh, who said the command had been making efforts to establish the identity of the deceased and trace his relatives, urged members of the public to contact the nearest police station or the command for useful information.
The victim was standing at Ikare Junction in Owo, but suddenly slumped and died on the spot.
