Bode Durojaiye, Oyo

Detectives from the Durbar Police Station, Oyo, Oyo State are on the trail of a man who beheaded his uncle in Oke-Apo Community, Oyo East Local Government Area on New Year day.
The incident happened in Ola Compound of the ancient town
After cutting the head, he also removed his uncle’s private part and intestine.
It is believed he committed the dastardly act for ritual purpose.
It is believed he later dumped the head near a river in Awe, a neighbouring community.
A family member who was inconsolable, amid sobs, was seen shouting: “This is an abomination. A cousin, living with his uncle, beheading the same uncle for ritual purpose”.
Freedom Online learned that the cousin had lived with his uncle for years.
Investigation revealed that after dinner on New Year day, the uncle discussed with the cousin before retiring to bed.
The next morning, when some family members did not see the deceased, they went to his bedroom only to find him in a pool of blood.
They were also shocked to discover that his head and parts of his body had been removed.
When they went to the room of the cousin, he was nowhere to be found. His door was left ajar.
Immediately, they raised the alarm, an action which attracted neighbours.
In minutes, a crowd had gathered in the compound.
Policemen later removed the body and took it to the mortuary of the State Hospital, Oyo.
About three hours later, some youths going to fetch water in the river in Awe saw the head with facial marks and raised the alarm.
Some children of the deceased later stormed the place and identified the head as that of their father, amid sobs.
