The Police Command in Lagos State says a man has allegedly stabbed his nephew to death with broken bottle and fled the home.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated this in Lagos on Monday in a statement.
Hundeyin said that mother of the fleeing suspect reported the incident to the police on Monday about 7a.m.
He said that the woman reported that her son (the suspect) and his nephew had misunderstanding over an undisclosed matter.
The image maker said the report revealed that the misunderstanding resulted in physical confrontation, where the suspect allegedly broke a bottle and stabbed his nephew on the left side of his chest.
“The victim was rushed to a private hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
“A team of detectives was immediately mobilised to the scene and photographs were taken.
“However, the family declined autopsy, but opted to bury the deceased according to Islamic rites,” he said.
Hundeyin further said there were efforts to arrest the fleeing suspect, while investigation was ongoing.
