Magnus Abe’s verdict: Amachree not Rivers APC chairman

Senator Magnus Ngei Abe (APC, Rivers South-East) has declared that Mr. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree is not the Rivers State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC).
To him, the Amachree-led executive has been voided by court.
Abe also called on the people of Gokana, Gokana Local Government Area of the South-South state and Ogoni at large to remain peaceful and law-abiding in the face of provocation as the ‘illegal’ Amachree-led factional executive of the party organises a rally in the area.
He insisted that since the Amachree-led executive has been voided by the court, the faction has no legal right to speak or act on behalf of the party in Rivers State.
Abe, in a statement in Port Harcourt and signed by his spokesperson, Parry Saroh Benson, said the move is a grand design instigated to provoke the peace-loving people of Gokana against themselves for selfish political gains.
The senator said: “It has come to my notice that Ojukaye Flagg- Amachree-led factional executive, a group that has been voided by the court, is planning to hold a rally in Gokana today. I urge you all to ignore them as their efforts will yield no benefits.”
“This is a grand design by some unscrupulous politicians in the area to instigate violence amongst us. I, therefore, urge you to go about your normal business as no individual or group could stop a people whose time has come”.
