Alhaji Muluku Agah, the highest ranking lawmaker at Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has called for a united Eggon nation and Nigeria at large for development to thrive.

Agah (APC-Nassarawa Eggon East), the Chairman, House Committee on SDGs, Planning and Budget, made the call on Monday when he visited the new Aren Eggon and Paramount ruler of Eggon nation, Retired Justice Ahmed Ubangari.

Agah said that the visit was to congratulate and rejoice with Ubangari on his appointment as the new Aren Eggon.

“I am here to congratulate and rejoice with you on your appointment as the new Aren Eggon.

“We are happy on your well-deserved appointment, considering your positive contributions in the area of peace building among other areas.

“I want to assure you of my support to promote unity and peace, considering the importance of peace to human and societal development,” he said.

He said that the new Aren Eggon has the capacity and experience to unite and promote peace among Eggon nation and their neighbours.

The lawmaker prayed Almighty Allah to guide, protect and give the new Aren Eggon good and sound health.

Agah assured of his loyalty and support to the new Aren Eggon at all times.

Responding, the new Aren Eggon, a former Chief Judge of the state, appreciated Agah for the visit and prayed God to bless him in his future endeavors.

Ubangari called on his subjects and other Nigerians to live in peace and tolerate one another, irrespective of their affiliations.

He added that peace is priceless and non-negotiable, saying peace is a necessary requirement for the development of any society.

On May 5, Gov. Abdullahi Sule approved the appointment of Ubangari as the new Aren Eggon.

Sule gave the approval shortly after being presented with the report of the committee saddled with the responsibility to select the new Aren Eggon, at the Government House.

The governor explained that the selection of the new Aren Eggon was conducted in accordance with Eggon tradition and in line with the strict policy of transparency under his administration.

NAN also reports that Ubangari succeeds the late Dr Bala Abaine Angbazo, who died in July 2022.
