Launch of Gabriel Akindeko’s Autobiography ‘I Drink to the Future’ holds February 19

The official launch of “I Drink to the Future,” the autobiography of High Chief (Dr.) Gabriel Akindeko, FNIOB, D.Litt (UI), D.Sc (UNIBEN), will take place on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Queen’s Park Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Written before his passing in 1987, this book captures Akindeko’s extraordinary journey as a visionary leader, Minister for Agriculture, education advocate, and international diplomat. He pioneered Nigeria’s agricultural settlement scheme, was twice crowned “King of Farmers,” and became Africa’s first regional representative at the UN’s FAO. He also served as Pioneer Pro-Chancellor of FUTA, which later named its first male hostel in his honor.
