The Lagos State Government has held its 24th Edition of Christmas Carols of Nine Lessons to usher in the Yuletide in the state.

The carol held at Lagos House, Marina, on Thursday, with top government officials and civil servants in attendance.

The carol had the theme “Unto us a Child is Born”.

Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the annual event organised by the First family and the Ministry of Home Affairs, read the ninth lesson from the Bible book of John 1 verses 1 to 14.

The governor at the programme which featured nine bible readings said: “I want to wish each and everyone of us a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year filled with joy.”

Earlier, Alhaji Ibrahim Layode, the state Commissioner for Home Affairs, said that the event has become a platform for the First family to appreciate God for successfully running the state activities.

Layode also said the event had become epochal in the religious calendar of the state, paving the way for the governor to demonstrate his practical love for all religions by his nondiscriminatory deployment of resources to all.

During the presentation of Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, they officials thanked the governor for giving workers 13th month salary.
