National leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were told on Sunday that for the Kwara State chapter of the party to be united, loyalists of Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, should leave APC.
All those who got appointments because of their affinity with Saraki should also resign or be fired.

The decision was taken after a consultative meeting by stakeholders, led by Information and Culture Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in Oro, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Saraki is believed to be on his way out of APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the factional APC chairman in Kwara State, Balogun Fulani, is loyal to the Senate President.
Mohammed, who was in the state to assure APC members that recent defections by some party chiefs will not affect the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, also declared that the president would have a landslide victory because of the various projects he has executed all over the country since 2015.

He said his visit to the North-Central state was to consult with stakeholders on how to strengthen APC and ensure victory for the party in the state in 2019.

Mohammed was received by hundreds of enthusiastic party members and supporters, who followed him all the way from the Ilorin Airport to his hometown of Oro for the meeting.

Resolutions from the meeting:
*That the Balogun Fulani-led Kwara APC executive committee be immediately dissolved and a fresh congress that will include all Kwara APC members and those who are just coming into the party be held at the various levels to constitute a new executive.
*That all those who got appointments by deceit, hiding under the facade of being party men and women, should immediately resign such appointments or be fired.
*That the recent gale of defections has now put the APC in a position of true majority in the National Assembly, as those who remain are the ones who are truly committed to the ideals of our great party
“That all members and supporters of our great party restate their unflinching support for President Muhammadu Buhari and assure him of a harvest of votes from Kwara State in the 2019 General Elections.
*That all members should remain calm because there is no cause for alarm.
