The Owa Ajaka of Age-Mowo land in Badagry, Lagos State, Aholu Solomon  Egbenayon, on  has  decried  the deplorable state of roads in the area
Speaking   during his three months  coronation anniversary in Age-Mowo, Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), on Sunday, the traditional ruler called on the state government to urgently address the problem.
He said lack of good roads in his domain had affected the area negatively ,adding it had discouraged outsiders from doing  business with  the people of Age- Mowo.
Egbenayo  noted that some  years back, some portions  of  the main road linking the town to Lagos – Badagry  Expressway, were rehabilitated  by the Federal Government .
He, however, said  the rehabilitation , facilitated by the immediate past  Representative of Badagry Federal Constituency at  the House of Representatives,  Mr Babatunde Hunpe, did not cover most of the link road.
“Without doubt , completing the main road will definitely open up Age-Mowo and its environs to development and investment opportunities.
“Larger portion of this road, still not fixed , has been an obstacle  to socio-economic activities in Age-Mowo kingdom.
“On behalf of the entire sons and daughters of the land, we are using this occasion to appeal to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to help us complete the construction with standard drainages.
“We are appealing because we know Sanwo-Olu is capable, he has done so many developmental projects in many other communities and local governments across the state,” he said.
Egbenayon also urged the governor to equip the community’s primary health center with drugs and staff, to enable the inhabitants of the kingdom access quality healthcare.
The traditional ruler thanked Sanwo-Olu for giving him staff of office and authority as the traditional ruler of Age-Mowo kingdom.
He also commended the people of the land for their support and cooperation since  his upgrade from Baale(Community Chief)  to Aholu(Higher Chief)by the governor.
Egbenayon urged sons and daughters of Age-Mowo to unite and work together in love, saying “a new dawn has come to the kingdom,”
In his remarks, Mr Samson Olatunde, the Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, commended Sanwo-Olu for  his strides in the area of community development.
“The kingdom of Age-Mowo has been a prosperous and peaceful community; it is   home of Aworis, Eguns and other ethnic groups.
“This unity and togetherness have tremendously helped Age-Mowo kingdom to progress in these past years ,” he said.
He urged the people of Age-Mowo land to cooperate with one another and support the traditional ruler so as to move the community forward
The traditional rulers from Lagos and Ogun States graced the anniversary.
