The Lagos State Police Command has refuted reports alleging that two officers were killed during a clash in the Iyano area of Ojo.
The clarification follows viral videos and social media claims suggesting that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ilemba-Hausa Division and another officer lost their lives during a failed peace meeting.
In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi described the claims as inaccurate and misleading.
She confirmed that no police personnel or civilians were killed or injured in the incident.
According to Adebisi, officers responded promptly to the disturbance and successfully restored calm to the area.
She added that security presence has been strengthened to maintain order and prevent further unrest.
The police also noted that the videos circulating online are unrelated to the incident and should not be taken as evidence.
Residents were advised to rely on verified information from official sources and avoid spreading unconfirmed reports.
The command reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety and warned against the dangers of misinformation, which could cause unnecessary panic.
