bode_geoge_and_ogunleweThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos State Chapter, on Friday announced that the lingering disagreement between two of its leaders — Chief Olabode George and Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe — has been resolved.

In a statement in Lagos, the PDP said:“The reported battle over the soul of the party in Lagos State has been settled.

“The two gladiators involved — George and Ogunlewe — on Thursday night finally resolved their differences.

“The duo expressed their intention to work together for the progress of the party in the 2015 elections.’’

The statement was signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Taofik Gani.

George was a former Deputy National Chairman of the party, while Ogunlewe, who defected from the Alliance for Democracy (AD) to the PDP, served as Minister of Works under ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The statement noted that the supremacy battle between the chieftains contributed to the party’s unimpressive performance in the 2011 elections.

“After what appears like a long rope to internal reconciliation by the leadership of the party, the duo finally appeared in public glare to bury their differences.

“They also promised to close ranks for the party towards the 2015 polls.

“We have moved beyond closing ranks. We are now glued together as a family. Before the end of this year, the family will be more united, robust, happier and stronger, ready to win elections.” it added.
