There is tension in Lekki area of Lagos State.
Following the assassination of Demola, the first son of the Ojomu of Ajiran land, Tijani Akinloye, on Monday, thousands of residents have deserted the axis.
Some of them said they quickly left the area because of ‘fear of reprisal’.
Demola was shot dead and butchered near Chevron Drive, close to Ebano Supermarket.
An estate management notice in the community also confirmed the incident, urging residents to steer clear of the Chevron, Agungi and Ajiran areas for their safety.
The statement reads: “This is to notify all residents that the Ajiran (Agungi) king’s son was assassinated today along Chevron Drive (close to Ebano Supermarket) this morning. We, therefore, plead with our esteemed residents to avoid Chevron, Agungi and Ajiran for now for their safety”.
The state police command is yet to react to the killing.
