Inauguration: Ambode hands over to Sanwo-Olu

Ambode and Sanwo-Olu

Stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Epe Division of Lagos State under the aegis of Epe Division Leadership Forum, on Monday affirmed their support for APC and its gubernatorial candidate, Mr Jide Sanwo-Olu.
The zone massively supported the aborted aspiration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to seek second term during the party’s governorship primary in October.
Ambode lost his second term ticket to Mr Jide Sanwo-Olu, a former commissioner in the state.
The forum made its position known in a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting held on Sunday in Ibeju Lekki Area of the state.
The communiqué, issued on Monday was signed by a former Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Mr Dele Onabokun.
According to the communique, after an extensive deliberation, the forum resolved to send a congratulatory letter to Sanwo-Olu, the APC governorship flag bearer for Lagos in the forthcoming 2019 general election.
It added that the forum resolved to ensure his success at the 2019 polls.
While, agreeing to work assiduously for the APC to ensure victory in the forthcoming elections, the forum also assured of its readiness to ensure victory for all the party’s candidates from President Muhammadu Buhari, Senatorial candidate, House of Representatives members and House of Assembly members within Epe Division.
“Due to grievances and rancour that arose from the outcome of the just concluded primaries, the Forum has decided to set up reconciliatory committees in the two Local Government Areas (LGAs) and the three Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs),” it added.
According to the communiqué, the reconciliatory committees are to ensure reconciliation within their domains up to ward level throughout the division.
It added that the forum re-affirmed the leadership of Alh. Shakirudeen Seriki, as the overall leader of APC in Epe Division.
The communique noted that stalwarts at the meeting include: Chief Lanre Razak, a former Commissioner for Transport,  Mr Adeyemi Ikuforiji, immediate past Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Dr Tola Kasali, a former Commissioner for Health in Lagos.
Others are Mr Wasiu Odeyemi, Commissioner, Lagos State Civil Service Commission; Alhaja Ramotalai Bankole, the Lagos State APC Welfare Secretary, and all past and present House of Representatives and House of Assembly members in the Division.
The rest are all the past and present local government chairmen in the division.
